BASE HTTP Interface

BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine) indexes web resources and harvests metadata of scientific repositories via OAI-PMH. It is based on the open source search engine software Lucene/SOLR. Currently more than 7,000 document servers and more than 150 millions documents are covered in BASE and grouped into different collections. The data structure related to the index structure is based on Dublin Core with several extensions.

You can integrate the BASE index into your own local infrastructure (e.g. meta search engines, library catalogues). For the realisation we provide a HTTP interface. A manual is available for download:

Before you can start testing and using the interface, your IP address needs to be registered first. To get access, please contact us via this form. Please specify your use case and an IP or IP range from which you need to access the API. You will get an email notification as soon as your IPs have been activated.
